Nyeri County
Nyeri County lies in Kenya’s central highlands between Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Range. It provides access to Aberdare National Park, a landscape of forest, moorland, waterfalls and wildlife, and to routes on the western side of Mount Kenya National Park. Nyeri town has links to Kenya’s colonial history and is home to the grave of Scouting founder Robert Baden-Powell. Tea and coffee farms cover many of the county’s green hills, and the cool climate contrasts with Kenya’s coast and savannahs. Visitors use Nyeri as a base for mountain scenery, forest lodges, farm visits and onward travel around the central region.
