Bomet County
Bomet County occupies green highlands in Kenya’s South Rift, between the Mau Forest complex and the plains leading toward the Maasai Mara. Tea fields, dairy farms and rolling ridges shape much of the landscape, particularly around Sotik and Bomet town. Chepalungu Forest and the Mau escarpment protect important water catchments and offer opportunities for guided nature walks. Tenwek Falls is a local landmark on the Nyangores River. The county is closely associated with Kipsigis culture and long-distance running. It offers a quiet highland stop for travellers crossing between Kericho, Narok and western Kenya.
