Eldoret City Guide: Kenya's Home of Champions
Visit Eldoret and the North Rift: running culture, Iten, Kerio Valley, waterfalls, local food and practical travel tips.
In Eldoret, dawn belongs to runners. Packs of athletes glide along red-earth roads as mist lifts off the farmland. This high-altitude city in Kenya's North Rift is the gateway to the land of Olympic champions, deep valley views and waterfalls. It is relaxed, affordable and refreshingly untouristy.
